Curvy Joy

My Curves are pieced together using the mirror method (cutting curves in two pieces of fabric and putting the mirror images together by machine) and then I added 3 oddly curved shapes and button hole stitched around them. I only put them on the bottom of the piece because it is getting big...  I added narrow strips on the other sides to separate the piano keys from the next step.  Onward!

Rounds 2 and 3!

I left town to go to my stepson's wedding and you guys did Rounds 2 and 3!  I had to play catch-up.  Round 2 was squares.  Hmmm...my squares are log cabins and I tried putting them around the triangles, but the design was less than pleasing, so I took out some of the triangles and installed log cabins.  Then I decided it needed a border and Round 3 was strips.  How fortunate.  So a mostly blue, some green, and a little pink piano key border was next.  It's the start of a happy quilt, but it's getting big, it's 31" x 44" now.  How long are we doing this?   And what am I going to do with all those little left-over log cabins???   

Joy's triangles

This is my triangular border.  This is the second border that I made and I'm still not totally pleased, but I'm thinking that this may be the "ugly" phase and it will come together in the end.  The first border was much more liberated, but too dark.  I'm saving the pieces, I may try to combine them into a different row.  I'm looking forward to new directions.  Sue in mid Mi

My center (or off-center) block

Hi, I'm Sue from mid-Michigan and I'm really excited for this to get going.  The letters are wonky, but the borders actually turned out squarer than I intended, but I figure that I can make it up for it in the first round.  Onward!
