Round Four Curves!
After fussing and fussing and not finding the way I want this, I finally
settled on making this in an OK design and then getting rid of it. So,
I took the next step and made the initial cut and suddenly ... there it
was! Perfect, just the way I want it. I'll skip the fabric I was
going to put around that and the binding, too. I'll just turn under the
edges here and quilt concentric circles. This is my Liberated Round
Robin. And now it's just the quilting to do.

Reflecting Pool–Round 3
Well, I had my Round Robin piece up on my design wall, but didn’t like anything I tried with it. I even sewed some to it, but then took it out. I tried it lop-sided, wonky, and any way I could think of. Finally, I got disgusted, took it down and shoved it in a box. That took from my last post (way back when) until just today when “Eureka!” I suddenly knew what my problem had been: me. It’s not that what I had didn’t work, it’s that I was trying to make it conform to my preconceived pattern idea. I’d forgotten what I said in my first post: The colors are wild. Yes, indeed, they are. This quilt is all about color pattern. Soon as I remembered that, ideas just jumped together. This is the Round 3 Rectangles (large, small and all sizes).

Got it. Remind me of that first posting again next time I get stuck, will you please?

Trying to let it Talk to Me
Here's my round 2, squares. I'm not sure where this is going. I spent a lot of time auditioning colors and it blew me away that the red looked soooo good. Never would have figured it. This thing is taking me in new directions. Color seems to be the key here, but also the patterns in the fabric itself. The curves in the zebra stripe add loads to this as opposed to stripes or checks. I can't see the tiny squares/rectangles next to the zebra, but the red ones show up quite well.
Having fun and trying not to stress too much over this. Not having a plan always stresses me. I'm a control freak, even in my uncontrolled moments, but I'm totally at the mercy of that center piece right now. Yikes!

Triangulations
Here's my Round One. I may or may not add another round of triangles. I have a few weeks to decide.

Center Block
I'll follow Clare's lead and use a block my Parts Swap partner, Heidi, sent me. I chose this one because there is NO way this fabric will be able to be controlled. I could use a little craziness right now.
