I'm not happy with the original block and the crumbs so I'm starting again.
I've got some batik blocks left over from a previous quilt so I'm starting again with those. I shall probably be a round behind, but that's got to be better than my initial decision which was to leave in a fit of pique!
I don't like the original idea, it won't lie flat and the green really jumps out.
I'll probably slash it and use it in something else.

A Change in Direction
I knew it! I did tell you didn't I.
They have taken on a mind of their own!
Another quilt in the making!
So on to Plan B
Scrappy Sawtooth borders.

My Second Round
I'm having fun and I have a horrible feeling these crumb blocks are going to turn in to a quilt by themselves.
I'm not too sure where they are going at the moment.
I'm leaning towards slashing the first block diagonally (top right to bottom left), doing black borders round each half and inserting crumbs between the diagonals and round the outside.
What do you think?

My First Round
I promise you - when you've spent hours planning what to do for everyone else and you get to start, it ain't as easy as it sounds.
I thought and thought and thought and eventually came up with this for starters.
Made up of pieces sent to me by Nancie V and Nann in the 2011 and 2012 Worldwide Swaps.
It grew a bit bigger and then I started slashing.
This is what resulted.
Umm - needs something else - a bit of Chartreuse Green perhaps?
I forgot how much fabric stretches when slashed. Nothing matches! That's liberated for you!
Looking forward to the next round.

Colours of Life
Didn't finish it as it was getting too big to do squiggles.
It was my Mother's 80th birthday party last week. I was going back to the UK for it and needed something to give her.
She's been on at me for ages to make her a lap quilt to keep her knees warm so I pulled this out, took a deep breath and machine quilted it. Just straight lines, using 1" masking tape as a guide. Not bad for a first attempt!
Finished size approx 48" by 46".

Round 3!
Busy busy here in the land of garlic, cheese and red wine!
I give you my Round 3
It's looking a lot better now that I've added the blue piano keys and another wide black border.
This is getting big - and I mean big! It's covering up my Haunted Houses quilt which was big enough.

Round 2 Encore
Okay! Forget my last post about Round 2.
There has been a massive rethink and a lot of frogging (rippit rippit).
I'm still not happy with it, but I think I can now see where the problem lies.
I've got to continue the next round with blue and then do the same big black border. It may not be liberated, but it's continuity.

Round Two Done
The blue idea went out of the window. I didn't like the look of it.
I then found these squares which were sent to me by Marit at Quilt It, and fitted them together like a jigsaw puzzle. Hence the slightly whacky, wonky look.
I'm not too sure where it's going to next, but I'm going to finish this round off with another black border and then perhaps orange, which will hopefully point me in the right direction for the next round.

My Centre Block
Hi. Clare from Dordogne Quilter here. This looks like it's really going to be fun.
I've already chosen my centre block from a pile of orphans that Nancie sent me.
So here's my centre block.
